Year 1 children visited Bolden Environmental Centre on Friday 17th March. The children listened to the story Zog by Julia Donaldson and enjoyed activities to accompany. They toasted marshmallows on the camp fire, collected magic stars, played hide and seek and made fire dragons in the craft area of the classroom.

We all had lots of fun and it was a great end to our reading week.

School Council Elections

Over the past few weeks, the children at St. Mary’s have been taking part in elections for the school council. Children from each year group from Years 1 to 6 took part. Children nominated themselves and had to deliver speeches to their class to try and win their votes. The children then voted for the people that they thought would be the best school councillors. After the votes were counted the children were told who had been elected. Here are our new school councillors. We will keep you updated about our projects throughout the year!  IMG_1086IMG_1087 IMG_1088 IMG_1089 IMG_1090 IMG_1091 IMG_1092 IMG_1093 IMG_1094 IMG_1095 IMG_1096 IMG_1097 IMG_1098 IMG_1099 IMG_1100 IMG_1101 IMG_1102 IMG_1103 IMG_1105 IMG_1106 IMG_1107 IMG_1108 IMG_2093 IMG_2094 IMG_2095 IMG_2096 IMG_2097

Year 1 enjoyed taking part in a role play of Baptism to end our ‘Belongings’ topic.  We chose parents, godparents and a priest to take part in the ceremony and sing ‘This little light of mine’
