Harvest Fast Day

Today for Harvest Fast day, we all dressed up in bright colours to brighten up harvest. We all donated money and tins to add to our Harvest display. All the tins and food we will donate to the Key project. Thank you for all of your support.

Year 2 then presented an assembly all about Harvest. The children re arranged the letters to create different words that harvest made. They then sang songs all about harvest. The children recited a harvest prayer with actions to share with the school and some children shared their own prayers. Well Done everyone!

Forest school

Our topic this half term is George Stephenson and this week in forest school Yr2 collected lots of resources to create their own steam train. We worked as a team to collect a range of different sticks and logs which we used as the outline and then added the leaves for the windows and doors. Our train was so big we couldn’t fit it in one picture, however we all managed to fit inside!

Roald Dahl Day

Today we celebrated Roald Dahl and his fabulous books! We shared the story of The Minpins and really enjoyed sharing what we would do if we were a minpin. We then created our own minpins using different materials, they are brilliant, well done year 2!

Forest School

Year 2 have been settling very well into their new class and routines. Today we visited forest school where we explored the area and collected different objects to create an autumn picture.

We had lots of fun collecting acorns, berries, sticks and leaves sharing what we could create using the objects. We then shared a story together. We look forward to going back next week!

French Day – Year 2

Today we had lots of fun, spending the day speaking and learning in French. We started by greeting each other in the morning in French and then asking how we are. We dressed in red, white and blue. We then went onto the fabulous French bus, to share a story. We looked at the colours in French and shared our gingerbread man story. We then created an Eiffel tower out of spaghetti and marshmallows, it was very tricky! But we worked as a team to help each other. We then sang songs and shared crepes and juice. It was a SUPER day! We then all gathered for an assembly where we shared our story.

More Than Dance – Year 2

Today More than dance company came into Year 2 to teach us treasures through prayer and dance. We looked at how we are the treasures of God and we shared how we can go forward and shine our light and follow in Jesus footsteps. We created our own treasure map, made up of ourselves. We then shared our dance and prayers with the whole school at the end of the day. It was a very lovely day, in which we reflected on ourselves and how we treat others, remembering we are the treasures of God. A big thank you to Deacon Kevin and the girls at more than dance for such a wonderful day!

Today we shared the story of Captain Flynn and the pirate dinosaur and we created wanted posters. We shared the story of Grandfathers clock and created our own maths book about time. This afternoon we visited the school library and chose a book to take home to share. We used computers to create our story book characters and presented them to the class.
