Congratulations to our new head boy, Luca, and our new head girl, Gracie! You will be fantastic representatives for our school and your fellow students! All of our Year 6’s who made speeches today did an absolutely AMAZING job and should be very, very proud of themselves!
Another BIG congratulations to our new House Captains and Vice Captains, who made their speeches during pastoral care. Well done to everybody who took part in today’s celebrations! What a great way to end our week!
Today the children in Year 3 took part in a dance workshop. The children are taking part in a Dragon Festival on 27th May 2018 where the children are going to make their own dragon to parade with. The children in Year 3 were very excited when they learned that they were also going to move like a dragon. The children were taught a dance to help their movements in the parade and were then set the challenge in groups to create their own moves that they can use. We cannot wait to show off these moves in the parade and we hope lots of people are going to come and see us.
Today the children and staff attended mass to celebrate St. Mary, the patron saint of our school. We would like to say a huge thank you to the children for their participation throughout mass. A special thank you to the children who made their First Holy Communion last week and helped to lead mass along with Fr. Saji. We would also like to thank the parishioners of St. Mary’s for their continued support.
To raise money for Red Nose Day, we are holding I’m a teacher, get me out of here!
10 members of staff have volunteered to take part, as the winner ‘gets out of here!’ Yes, the winner will go home and Mrs Tumelty will take over their duties. The contestants have donated their hard earned cash for the chance to get an early finish, whilst the other members of staff have donated just to have a laugh at their colleagues!
The contestants don’t know what the challenges are but I’m sure we will hear some shouts of “I’m a teacher, get me out of here.”
