Admission Arrangements

Each year we offer 30 places into our Reception class and as a Catholic school, we aim to provide a Catholic education for all our pupils.

We therefore hope that all parents will give their full, unreserved and positive support for the aims and ethos of the school. This does not affect the right of an applicant who is not Catholic to apply for and be admitted to a place at the school in accordance with the admission arrangements as shown on our admission policy. We welcome applications from all faiths. We also welcome visits to the school; please contact the school if you wish to arrange a visit. Alternatively, we offer open dates where parents can visit school. These dates will be advertised here and on our school social media accounts.

In-Year Applications

An application can be made for a place for a child at any time outside the admission round and the child will be admitted where there are available places.  An application should be made to the school by completing the in-year admissions application form (South Tyneside Admissions) and returning it to South Tyneside Admission Team.

Where there are places available but more applications than places, the published oversubscription criteria, as set out in the admission arrangements for 2023/2024, will be applied- see below Parents are advised to read the admission arrangements carefully before making their application. In-year applications will be dealt with by 31 August at the latest each year.

If there are no places available, the child will be added to the waiting list.  Please see the admission arrangements for more details.

You will be advised of the outcome of your application in writing as soon as possible.  Applicants must be informed of the outcome of their application within 15 school days of receipt, but the aim is to notify applicants of the outcome of their application within 10 school days of receipt.

You have the right to appeal to an independent appeal panel if your application is unsuccessful.

If you have any questions in relation to in-year admissions please contact the main school office.  You may also wish to discuss in-year applications with the local authority- South Tyneside.
