Healthy Eating Awareness Day- Year 6

Today the children in Year 6 learned about the ‘Healthy Eating Plate’. They thought about the components of a balanced diet and why it is important to be nutritionally balanced also. The children, with Mrs Reid, thought about their previous topic of the Americas and created Mexican inspired dishes. The children used a range of preparation methods, including the bridge method, to chop up tomatoes for their salsa. The children thought about healthy alternatives to allow for low carbohydrate diets and they enjoyed eating their creations. The children thoroughly enjoyed their afternoon of learning in Design and Technology.
