British Values
At St Mary’s, our curriculum is designed to provide a broad, balanced and engaging education that enables every child to thrive academically, socially and spiritually. Central to this is our commitment to the fundamental British Values of democracy, the rule of law, individual liberty, and mutual respect and tolerance of those with different faiths and beliefs. These values are not taught in isolation but are deeply connected to our ethos of Work, Play and Pray, Together and our vision for all children to Flourish. In living out Flourish – Faith, Love, Opportunities, Unity, Resilience, Integrity, Stewardship and Hope – pupils are given the guidance and opportunities to understand their rights and responsibilities, respect diversity, and contribute positively to the world around them. In this way, our curriculum not only prepares children for the next stage of their education but also for life in modern Britain, rooted in strong values and character.
