Eco Warriors visit the Recycling Village
Today the Eco Warriors visited South Shields’ Recycling Village to learn about how common household waste items can be recycled and then re-used to reduce the impact on the environment. The lovely team (Emma, Nico, Laura, Andy and Tony in the wagon) showed us around the site and explained how each sectioned worked.
We learned that even general waste in South Tyneside is not taken to landfill, it is burnt to produce electricity for our homes! We also got to take a picture with the recycling wagon and have a look around the shop to learn how items can be ‘up cycled.’ This is especially important around Christmas time.
This has made us even more passionate about making our school as eco-friendly as it can be!
