Super Sonnet Writing

Year 5 explored sonnets for the first time today! We spoke about the form of 14 lines, and the ABAB rhyming pattern. Then, we worked in teams to create a theme for our sonnet, some themes included nature, summer and the sky! After that, we created rhyming couplets that we could use in our sonnets. Finally, we created figurative language that we could use in our sonnet and made sure that our lines were all 10 syllables long (this was the tricky part!).
