Visit Green Ewe Gene in the Hancock Museum this Summer.
We have some very exciting news!!! St. Mary’s took part in a creative venture in June where all of the children and adults helped with the decoration of a sheep figure which has now become part of the ‘Shaun the sheep on the Tyne trail.’ These sheep are placed at various destinations around the local area and can be easily visited using the Metro system. Here are some photographs of the children and staff coming together to create our sculpture which has now been housed in the Hancock Museum in Newcastle. Some children volunteered as part of our ‘Art team’ but all children in the Nursery and school placed their fingerprint onto the sheep to create flowers. In keeping with the ‘green’ theme, our sheep is full of painted blooms and leaves of different types and colors. We would love you to take photos of your families visiting the St. Mary’s Green Ewe Gene sheep on the trail and we will share these on the Website in the new term. Our sculpture will eventually be returned to St. Mary’s where it will take up permanent residence here for you all to see.
