St. Mary’s is a one-form-entry Roman Catholic Primary School (4–11 years) in Jarrow, Tyne and Wear. Our school is a happy place, where the needs of the children are central to our philosophy. We also have a nursery school that offers a two-year-old provision, a 30-hour provision for 3 and 4 year olds and wraparound care from 8.00 am to 6.00 pm.
St. Mary’s is a ‘family’ where children are nurtured, encouraged, supported and challenged to reach their full potential in a safe and caring environment. We are proud to be part of Bishop Chadwick Catholic Education Trust. If you would like to arrange a visit, do get in touch.
Our governing body has responsibility for admissions to our school. The local authority undertakes the co-ordination of admission arrangements during the normal admission round for Reception entry in September.

These guide everything we do, shaping a supportive, ambitious and nurturing environment where children are prepared for the next stage of their journey with confidence and purpose. We are very proud of our school, our pupils and their success. As soon as your child enters St. Mary’s, they will be nurtured and supported in their education. We will ensure your child is given all of the tools needed to have the best start in life.
